CBCI Telecom Video News

More than a year ago, the Canadian health network in collaboration with Infoway Canada made a national call for bids in order to acquire videoconferencing equipment. In this instance, Tandberg Canada was retained as the privileged manufacturer. CBCI Telecom and Bell were selected as the manufacturer’s technology integrators for the east of Canada, including Ontario and Quebec.

The Quebec Telehealth project consists of videoconference and infrastructure products. This equipment is adapted to the clinic as well as the administrative environment. This contract is evaluated at several millions of dollars.

CBCI Telecom offers preferred rates on all our Tandberg products available on the standing offer across Canada. Related audiovisual products are also an integral part of the call for tenders.

CBCI Telecom and Bell benefit from numerous years of experience in the installation, design, maintenance and service of these technologies. The Quebec health network can benefit from this expertise by combining the network and the personalization of the videoconferencing technologies.

Consult our website to see which tradeshows we are doing this fall. You will have the opportunity to see for yourself our impressive lineup of equipment.

VIDEO CONFERENCING PAVES THE WAY TO SAVINGS FOR THE LARGEST FEDERATION OF AGRICULTURAL COOPERATIVE.

The largest federation of agricultural cooperative has a combined turnover of over $ 4.6 billion and is the 4th largest businesses in Quebec. The federation employs over 11,000 employees and has more then 52,000 members. Its mission is to promote the interests of Canadian agriculture and agri- food producers, including farm families, through leadership at the regional level and to ensure the continued development of a viable and vibrant agriculture and agri-food industry in Quebec and Canada.

The federation’s main objectives were to promote and advance acceptance of positive social, economic and environmental conditions (Go Green Policy) of those engaged in agricultural pursuits. They were also looking to significantly reduce travel time & expenses.

Challenge:

The federation employs 300 reps that travel across and outside Quebec for various meetings. On an average, each rep was travelling approximately 50,000 km/year which mounted up to almost 15 million km for all 300 reps. The company’s goal was to reduce the travel by 20% (3 million km/year) and also reduce employee stress and fatigue from traveling. In addition, the federation was also looking to become more environmentally friendly by lowering hydrocarbon emissions, reducing fuel consumption and decreasing traffic congestion. Improving the company’s overall communication in terms of participation barriers, quality of information that is being comprehended and shared and collaboration issues was also a top priority.

Solution:

CBCI designed and implemented a 2 phase project. The plan in phase 1 included 8 videoconferencing systems in strategic locations within their internal network. This proposal allowed the federation to relieve extensive employee travel. Phase 2 included 10 videoconferencing systems which enabled the company to communicate with both internal employees & external partners/members.

Result

The implementation of videoconferencing permitted the federation to obtain their ROI within the first year as oppose to their initial 3 year plan. It also helped maintain culture and team atmosphere as employees were able to stay in touch over video. “Virtual” meetings significantly reduced travel time, costs and environmental impact and raised productivity levels by allowing people to meet face to face, without having to ravel or be physically based in the same place.
