Network Diagnostic Service
Information provided by Tandberg
Have you or are you currently experiencing issues with your videoconferencing system? Would you like to pin point the problem and eliminate finger pointing between service providers, the internet company, the firewall and the end point?

CBCI Telecom offers a Diagnostic Service which can identify specific video issues and isolate the problem. The network readiness assessment investigates the network infrastructure in depth and takes into consideration the network, the security, the equipment and the video. The service insures that the network is configured correctly and is equipped to support high quality video OR can identify what needs to be done to make it ready.
Service highlights
• Assessment performed on-site with client personnel
• Active Testing
• Real world video streams – not empty packets
• Report of conditions that affect service quality
• Report of findings and recommended corrective actions
|

We are able to integrate active testing and passive monitoring in a single management system. The solution is completely software based and allows the service to examine the quality of service between any and all endpoints and isolate network segments in the connection path. We can then identify any problems in a diagnostic report.
The following is a condensed list of things monitored and analyzed:
• Roundtrip delays
• Bandwidth use
• End point quality
• Structure analysis
• Packet loss
• Network design
• Transmission error

CBCI Telecom helps a crown corporation improve corporate social responsibility and reduce costs.
By Gali Jennewein - Senior Account Manager, Toronto reporting for Robert Restoule - Senior Account manager, Ottawa
A Crown Corporation headquartered in Ottawa has been trying to update its National Control Centre for a few years but did not have the internal expertise to design and move the project forward. The company has almost 72,000 employees and is among the top 10 employers in every province and territory.
Challenge:
Marketing tours were becoming increasingly a concern due to the non-functional video wall. The customer had a choice between a complete abandonment of the essentially inoperative system or simply to move forward with a plan of replacement or upgrade.
Solution:
CBCI Telecom provided up-front consultation for the company’s new National Control Centre Video. This was a full design-build approach which included: budget, design and integration. The system included five 24/7 rated Christie rear screen projectors, AutoPatch matrix switching, ProDisplay rear screen surfaces and a new Crestron control system. Live monitoring of the company processes is now provided on five screens (two of which are quad displays).
Result:
- New, reliable, state-of-the-art projection displays provide bright, stable images in high resolution
- The company is now able to provide tours for their prospective clients and increase business based on perceived service efficiency
- New control system provides a more intuitive method to select images for display
- Significant cost savings in the operation of the system can contribute to the Company’s Green Program. CBCI has reduced from 20 projectors to 5 in the projection wall system. This transformation produced a proportional reduction in energy and heat generation as well as cooling requirements. Since this system is operating 24/7 the reduction in energy was quite significant (90kWh/day, 32,850kWh/year)

Introducing the Sanyo PLC-XTC50L
This new commercial-use projector features the industry’s first ‘lamp selection system’ promoting easier projector maintenance, approximately 6,000 hours without the need of lamp maintenance, as well as offering other recent features simplifying maintenance for projectors, such as SANYO’s proprietary ‘Active Maintenance Filter’ (AMF) that saves on maintenance by automatically detecting clogs in the airflow to the system and scrolls the reel in the cartridge of filters to the next clean filter. The projector also features advanced lens shifting, even performing keystone corrections both horizontally and vertically while being able to be positioned or installed at almost any angle and setting.
