December 2008 Edition
What's NEW at Bell?

Analogue Service Suspended
Bell Mobility will be suspending all Analog accounts on November 9, 2008 and decommissioning the Analog network on November 16, 2008
Source: Bell

As a result, all clients who are currently using an Analog or dual-mode mobile phone will no longer have service as of decommissioning this date.

To ensure minimal service disruption and to offer Analog and dual-mode clients an alternative; select Bell Mobility clients will be sent a free digital mobile phone.

CBCI Telecom, simplifying your gift giving
this holiday season.

Michel Blais and Jessie Vaillancourt

Christmas is just around the corner and as usual you have one or two gifts left to buy and have run out of ideas?

The law banning mobile phones behind the wheel in Quebec, Nova-Scotia (in 2008) and Newfoundland (since 2003) and very soon in Ontario, says that you cannot drive with a cellular phone or PDA in your hand. For many people the switch to hands free is quite difficult. To help you find that perfect gift, here are a few gift suggestions that could help you and the recipient avoid a $125 ticket!

Firstly there is the phone holder; it’s purpose is quite simple, it holds the phone for you while you drive allowing you to drive hands free. It can be attached in the vent or to your windshield. They grip you cell phone on each side so you can have access to the keypad, and see the screen. If you have speakerphone, this is definitely something you should look into. This device can be very useful and enables you to use the phone while driving. An added bonus: the cost is quite low at around $30.

SUGGESTIONS:
  • BRAC-MHO-PVH-2000 AT 29.95$ mobile holder
  • RIMM-MHO-XX00904 AT 34.95$ Universal Holder for RIM BlackBerry Devices
  • UNIV-MHO-XX00906 AT 29.95$ Universal Phone Holder
Most consumers assume that Bluetooth® is a wireless headset that is used with your mobile phone. The short answer is that it includes much more than that. There are devices on the market that use the technology around the office or at home, and can also be attached in your car on the sun visor or windshield. All have build-in speakers, some include ear pieces to provide more privacy. The interesting thing with this is that it can be used in multiple spaces and costs considerably less than a wireless headset.

SUGGESTIONS:
  • BSKY-PHK-1001A Blue Sky Visor Bluetooth Handsfree Car Kit 1001A
  • BANT-PHK-LIGHT BLUE ANT HANDSFREE

The models range from devices can be attached to your rearview mirror or clipped into the sun visor, the windshield or be wired to your phone. This Christmas, you won’t be disappointed, we have (or “on the market”?) a vast array of different products to suit your budget, tastes, and dreams. Gadgets so cool, even your mother in-law would approve.
